surroundings of Glyfada than

Greek Taverna |
|
Glyfada
has it’s own Taverna close to the sea with a bar and a large
terrace with a beautiful sea view. Breakfast is served from
8.30am and lunch from 1pm (both are included in the accommodation
price). All the food is freshly prepared in the traditional
way with the finest local ingredients. There is also a
choice of vegetarian dishes, children’s food and a variety
of salads, including our very own Glyfada salad. |

Swimming Pool |
|
There are
2 swimming pools in Glyfada Beach. One pool is located on
the hill near the tennis court. The new swimming pool for
2006 is located near to the beach and our Greek taverna.
Both pools have a good mixture
of sea- and salt water, which is constantly
refreshed with a state of the art filtering system. There
is also a small honesty bar with soft drinks, spirits, ice
creams and coffee. During high season there are often
organised volleyball games for children. At times during the
day the pool is very quiet, perfect for some relaxation and
sunbathing on the comfortable sun loungers. |

Tennis Court |
|
The tennis court is situated near the
main entrance of Glyfada near the reception and pool. The (hard)
court is surrounded by traditional stone walls and cypress
trees, which offer plenty of shade in late afternoon. The
tennis court costs 10 euro p/hour (approx £6) including the
use of rackets and balls. All sessions need to be pre-booked
at the reception or with the manager in Glyfada. For more
information regarding the pool and tennis court

Sports |
|
For
those keen to try their hand at sailing, there are now
(strictly non-motorised) water sports on offer in the quiet
bay of Glyfada Beach (not to be confused with Monodendri
Beach below the villas). There will be 2 sailing boats for
hire and a windsurf board. This quiet beach is totally
unspoilt and a unique spot for swimming and snorkelling.
There’s also a hidden sulphur spring which, according to
local legend, gives the water unique healing properties. |

Museum |
|
The small Museum
in Glyfada is
very interesting as it presents a variety
of artefacts found on Paxos. For example, there are oil lamps
and old tools used for collecting olives (a speciality
on Paxos). The museum can be found
on the
left, as you walk up the hill with the villas on your right. We recommend paying a visit because it provides a good insight
into how people lived in the early days on Paxos. |

We had a
fantastic time on Paxos. Because of the changes you have made - the
pool and the evening meals - it has become much more sociable - we
met lots of lovely people, found time to talk to them and all got on
really well, which made the holiday even better --- Jim Bradbury |
